Starter Loc w/ Coils (Ages 5-13)

Starter Locs are the initial stage of the locs journey. They are formed by allowing hair to naturally tangle and lock into individual sections that will eventually develop into fully matured locs.

The starter stage can last anywhere from three to six months, depending on hair type and how fast it grows. To start locs with comb coils, you only need about 2-3 inches of hair of any texture. This technique makes use of a comb to create evenly distributed coils around the head, which are often the go to technique for traditional locs.
